Daily Dose: 2010 World Expo Shanghai

Add to TwitterShanghai is the site of the 2010 World Expo and the hundreds of pavilions designed and built by individual countries are already receiving considerable acclaim. This year’s theme is “Better Life, Better City.” Many of the pavilions seek to incorporate that sentiment through sustainable, environmentally-friendly architecture. From green roofs and bamboo buildings to a fiber-optic seed cathedral, this year’s expo seems to have it all!

Over the next week or so, Masonry Technology’s Daily Dose will be featuring pavilions from countries all over the world. If you’re particularly drawn in by one or more of these features, you have plenty of time to see these buildings for yourself! The expo started on May 1st and will run through October 31st.
