Did you know that the tallest weight-bearing masonry building in the world resides in Pennsylvania? Philadelphia City Hall’s tower is an impressive 511 feet and supports a 27 ton statue of William Penn. Not surprisingly, the building needs strong supports: the walls of the first floor are 22 feet thick!
